Spice 1 has graduated from Mt. Eden High School in Hayward during his childhood. According to Spice 1, he once stole a car that resembled the car which owned by famous rapper of that time Too Short and used it to make “doughnuts” (making tire burns in the shape of doughnut) on the street outside of Too Short’s mother’s house, in an attempt to impress Too Short.
Spice 1 used to sell drugs until he got his first break in his music career. The day he has received a check with lumpsum amount written on it, Spice 1 has decided to stop selling drugs and focus on his music career from then .
Spice along with famous rappers Tupac Shakur and Kokane had recorded the song ‘Fame together’ on September 7, 1996 which is known to be the last song that Shakur ever recorded before he was shot in Las Vegas by an unknown person later that same night. Spice 1, being a close personal friend of the Shakur , was on his way to meet up with him in Las Vegas for an after party when he heard the news about Shakur’s shooting and was devastated .
Spice 1 was shot while sitting in his car outside his parents’ home in Oakland, California on December 3 2007. He was rushed into the hospital and survived that attack. He was recovered and discharged from the hospital after some days.
