Tracy Lynn Curry popularly known as ‘The D.O.C’ is an American Rapper and he was also an member of Southern hip hop group Fila Fresh Crew and later collaborated with gangsta rap group N.W.A–where he has co-written many of their releases–as well as famous rapper Eazy-E’s solo debut album ‘Eazy-Duz-It’. the D.O.C was also one of the founders of Death Row Records along with Dr. Dre and Suge Knight. Curry has begun using the name ‘ D.O.C’. after he was signed into Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records. The D.O.C. has contributed lyrics to the N.W.A‘s debut studio album, ‘Straight Outta Compton‘ and also performed the opening verse on “Parental Discretion Iz Advised”. D.O.C also wrote for Eazy-E’s debut studio album, Eazy-Duz-It and co-wrote the music single “Keep Watchin'” from Michel’le’s self-titled debut album.
In November 1989, just five months after the release and instant success of No One Can Do It Better, D.O.C has been involved in a major car crash. Driving home from a party, he revealed that he fell asleep at the wheel and his car has veered off the freeway path . D.O.C, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown out the rear window, slamming his face into a nearby tree.
His injuries were so sever that he was treated 21 hours of plastic surgery, and he later spent 2½ weeks in the same hospital. He injured his larynx and he could not speak for about a month, and he was left with a different, raspier voice. In a 2015 interview with DJ Vlad, D.O.C stated that he was under the influence of alcohol and cannabis. He also revealed that he was actually pulled over before the accident but the police has decided let him go.
